As for what's on tap this evening, the retro '60s drama "Mad Men" and legal thriller "Damages" are eyeing Emmy history as basic cable's first best-series nominees.
Meanwhile, stars such as Steve Carell and Tony Shalhoub will be battling for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series, while Christina Applegate and America Ferrera face off for the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series trophy.
