Gathering up her closest celebrity pals, Kate Beckinsale celebrated her 35th birthday (which happens to be today, July 26th) with a fancy shindig at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills on Friday night (July 25).

Among those joining in on the fun were Kate's hubby Len Wiseman, along with David and Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, and Dustin Hoffman, who brought his wife Lisa Gottsegen.

The whole group was shuttled in and out by a heavy duty security team, with Dustin Hoffman's driver reportedly nearly hitting a pedestrian as their car made a quick getaway.

Meanwhile, in related news, it was just announced that the Kate Beckinsale-starring thriller "Whiteout" is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 24, 2009 by Dark Castle/Warner Bros.

The movie, which is based on a novel by Greg Rucka, tells the story of "Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale), who is a lone U.S. Marshal assigned to Antarctica whose investigation of the continent's first murder draws her into a shocking mystery."

It seems that there’s always a constant struggle between good and bad with Amy Winehouse. And yesterday the troubled singer ditched her healthy lifestyle for more of her partying ways.

Earlier in the day, her family came to her home to support her during the first visit with her new personal trainer. But the positive direction was quickly replaced by her self-destructive tendencies.

Last night, the “Rehab” songstress was spotted drinking (a bottle of Smirnoff) and smoking (what looked like a hand-rolled cigarette, hopefully!) with Mick Whitnall of Babyshambles and gal pal Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace.

And by 8am this morning, Winehouse had finally had enough - as she and her pals hopped in a cab and headed home. The Back To Black singer clutched a bottle of Jack Daniels in one hand, and her inhaler in the other.

Giving her famous Chihuahua Tinkerbell a break, Paris Hilton scooped up her pet Pomeranian Marilyn Monroe and headed off on a shopping spree yesterday (July 25).

The “Hottie and the Nottie” babe was spotted spending money like it was going out of style on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills, stopping into Diavolina boutique for a few bags’ worth of clothing.

And Paris understands the importance of looking good while clothes shopping, as evidenced by her elegant black and white striped floor-length halter-style summer dress complete with matching black peep-toe heels.According to her “Repo! The Genetic Opera” director Darren Lynn Bousman, Miss Hilton has turned over a new leaf since meeting boyfriend Benji Madden. "When she told me she had met this guy and was in love, I said, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.' But then I went to her house and it's obvious to tell she's a changed woman."

And Paris concurs. "I feel like I'm really grown up. I'm an adult now. I'm in a really great relationship and in love, so I stay home a lot."

Taking time away from her newfound motherhood, Jessica Alba was spotted doing some shopping in Beverly Hills, California yesterday afternoon.

And the “Good Luck Chuck” babe seemed none too happy that the paparazzi caught up with her as she held her head down and tried to avoid the shutterbugs.

Alba even stopped into a toy store, picking up a couple of dump truck toys and looking cute in a white collared top with black trousers and a pair of woven black heels.

As for her daughter Honor Marie, don’t expect to see her doing kid acting campaigns - Jess told press that they’ll hold her back from pursuing celebrity until she’s out of school.

"When she finishes college, she can do whatever she wants.” She also noted that it may be a struggle. “I think at some point all little kids express that desire, because they're so used to being treated like a star."

Looking as if the recent A-Rod affair/divorce rumors have taken their toll, Madonna was looking a bit run down as she was spotted leaving the Kabbalah Center in New York City on Friday evening (July 25).

The Material Girl was accompanied by daughter Lourdes Leon and sons Rocco and David, and she opted against covering her face from the cameras as she had done so the previous week.

Of her rumored declining health, a source close to the singer revealed to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna is doing less than OK. She has been rehearsing for the tour and she is totally miserable. She's down physically and mentally."

The insider added: "The situation with Guy is very, very tense. The way everyone is going crazy with the A-Rod story, her brother's book and her physical exhaustion are all taking their toll. She feels nobody has taken her side."
