2008 Emmy Award Winners

In what's being considered one of the funnier awards shows in the recent past, the 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards took over Los Angeles, being held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday night (September 21).

Keeping consistent with the nominations, the night saw HBO's miniseries John Adams, as well as NBC's comedy 30 Rock and AMC's drama Mad Men, take home the most trophies


On an individual note, Jeremy Piven, Tina Fey, Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti and Glen Close were among the night's big winners - all taking home trophies.

The complete list of the night's winners is as follows:

Enjoying an evening out at Universal Studios, Miley Cyrus was spotted over the past week with Nashville Star stud Justin Gaston, as well as her mom, Tish, and a few friends.

As always, Miley was her usually perky self as she stood aside her underwear model friend with the group walking amidst the following paparazzi.

In related news, it was recently announced that the 15-year-old Disney starlet will be taking a role in a new Disney film based on an upcoming Nicholas Sparks novel.

According to Variety reports, Miley won’t be singing in the film - only acting in what will be a romantic family drama. As an added bonus, Miley's mom will be taking on executive producer duties.

Enjoying the last day of summer with a shopping excursion, Hilary Duff was spotted combing the racks at The Americana at The Brand in Glendale, California on Sunday (September 21).

The "Foodfight!" actress dressed casually in a white tank top with black leggings, as she also sported a scarf despite the warm temperatures.

In career news, Hilary has been busy working on the new Polish brothers comedy “Stay Cool,” in which she co-stars alongside Winona Ryder, Mark Polish, Sean Astin, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer.

In the film, Duff portrays the character of Shasta O’Neil, described as a sexy high school senior who fights with Winona’s character over the same man.

Simply striking, as always, Gwyneth Paltrow attended the launch party for "Spain...On The Road Again" at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York City on Sunday evening (September 21).

Looking as if everything in life is going as well as could be hoped for, Gwyneth recently revealed that things haven't always been at their best - as she kicked post-partum depression with the help of exercise and Madonna.

"After I had Apple, I would characterize it as postnatal euphoria," she said on the Oprah Winfrey show. "I was on cloud nine. I was in a bubble, and then when I had [Moses] I didn''t feel okay."

"Once I started exercising, I was doing cardio and I felt like I had to get rid of stuff," Paltrow tells. "I started recommitting to eating well, because when I was pregnant I was eating donuts."

And Gwyneth credits Madonna's trainer, Tracy Anderson, for helping her lose her baby weight, also giving props to the Material Girl herself for her help during the depression phase.

"She is one of the most caring women and also a very tough woman. She's given me a lot of great advice. She really helped me out of my postnatal depression," Paltrow said.

The “Hills” hottie arrived at the festivities, held tonight at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, sporting a sexy strapless navy blue floor-length gown with a coordinating brooch and bracelet.

LC recently told press that she’s pleased to see that her reality TV genre is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

“I think that reality television is becoming really important in the industry, because if you turn on the TV, half of it is reality. I’m happy they’re acknowledging it.”

The stars are out on the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, as the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards are almost underway.

Among those in the crowd were "Desperate Housewives" actresses Teri Hatcher and Nicollette Sheridan, along with "The Office" actress Jenna Fischer and the night's hosts, among others.

As for what's on tap this evening, the retro '60s drama "Mad Men" and legal thriller "Damages" are eyeing Emmy history as basic cable's first best-series nominees.

Meanwhile, stars such as Steve Carell and Tony Shalhoub will be battling for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series, while Christina Applegate and America Ferrera face off for the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series trophy.

Heidi Klum Glams Up the 2008 Emmy Red Carpet

It’s one of television’s biggest nights of the year, and the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards looks to be full of promise. If host Heidi Klum is any indication, there will be plenty of pomp and circumstance at tonight’s festivities.

The “Project Runway” hottie arrive on the red carpet out front of Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre sporting a sexy silver beaded floor-length gown teamed with a pair of matching strappy heels.

And Klum isn’t the only host this year- she’ll share the duties with Ryan Seacrest, Howie Mandel, Jeff Probst, and Tom Bergeron.

Industry insider Ben Mulroney told press, "Having five reality hosts is a smart idea. The producers are definitely being diplomatic and spreading the wealth around. But let's not forget that Heidi, Howie, Jeff, Tom and Ryan are no strangers to TV. Bergeron is exceptionally good on his toes. Heidi has really great comedic timing. These guys all have skills that go way beyond what they do for their shows."

Spotted out on an afternoon shopping spree, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson took a trip out to Fred Segal in West Hollywood, California yesterday (September 20).

Besides spending time combing the racks at trendy shops, the "Mean Girls" starlet and her deejay mate took time to pay tribute to Travis Barker and Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein following a horrific plane crash that's left them fighting for their lives.

Miss Lohan wrote on her MySpace page: "Please send your prayers out to Adam Goldstien (sic) and Travis Barker - along with the others lost in the plane crash... it's so scary to think that life can end so fast... we must all treasure each and every moment - and be thankful for what we have."

Adding her sympathies, Miss Ronson writes: "I can't even imagine the pain their families must be in. Soooooo sad and I'm so sorry."

While she spent most of her time mingling in the shaded tent area, the "Gimme More" singer stepped out briefly onto the field to greet the horses and Team Spears members.

Meanwhile, recent reports tell that Miss Spears is planning a live performance (her first in the UK in years) on Simon Cowell’s U.K. reality show “The X Factor.”

The appearance, during which she'll reportedly perform her new single, “Womanizer,” is said-to-be happening sometime in December.

“Everyone is thrilled. To have Britney involved is a massive coup. They expect ratings to go through the roof when her performance airs,” an insider told The Sun.

For the second day in a row, Selena Gomez was spotted out fulfilling her retail needs with a shopping spree in Los Angeles on Sunday (September 21).

Accompanied by a gal pal, the pair went to DSW to look at shoes before dropping by T-Mobile, Starbucks and, last but not least, to the Arc-Light movie theaters.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Gomez recently was asked if she'd star in a prequel to the hit HBO series “Sex and the City,” but has said no - as she insists that she’s too young to star in such a film.

With a prequel focusing on character Carrie Bradshaw’s High School years looking to be a sure thing, Gomez explained her situation, “That’s not really the audience I’m going for. I mean, my mom loves the show and it’s a very popular show, but that’s not the direction I’m looking to take at this time.”

Meanwhile, Tony is gearing up for a big Sunday night game against the Green Packers at Lambeau Field tonight - and chances are, Jess will be on-hand lending her support.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Simpson spent the previous evening performing at the Los Angeles County Fair, as her little sister Ashlee and her hubby Pete Wentz watched on from the crowd!

All dressed up for a night on the town, socialite turned reality starlet Kim Kardashian was spotted out for a dressy dinner at Mr Chow in Los Angeles on Saturday evening.

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" beauty has been anxiously counting down the days until her "Dancing with the Stars" debut tomorrow night (September 21).

Besides enjoying evenings out and practicing her dance moves, the 27-year-old and her partner Mark Ballas have also been making their rounds with the press.

Of this, Kim recently blogged: "Mark and I have started our rounds of Dancing With The Stars press.. We did KTLA early Thursday morning. Mark's alarm didn't go off, but he woke up anyway! (Thankfully!) It was pretty early! We did a few dance moves during the show and demonstrated a little mambo for the hosts! They were trying to figure out what dances we were dancing to, but we wouldn't budge! We want everyone to be surprised when we dance!"

The 22-year-old MTV star looked bubbly in a black tank top, a red pleated silk skirt, and a pair of strappy black heels as she excitedly talked to fellow celebs in attendance.

Ms Conrad had been getting ready for the event all day - as she was spotted shopping earlier in the morning, making a few purchases for her outfit at the trendy Intermix boutique.

And it appears as if she pulled it off, as she looked simply stunning at the rehearsals up through the after-parties that followed!

According to an inside source, “The Hills” duo were both thrilled with the honor, saying it “felt better than winning an Academy award.”

Continuing to take her country act across the States, Jessica Simpson performed last night (September 20) during the Los Angeles County Fair in Los Angeles, California.

The "Do You Know" singer danced about the stage while belting out powerful vocals to a crowd that included her little sister, Ashlee Simpson, and her Fall Out Boy hubby, Pete Wentz.

Throughout Jessica's performance, Ashlee intently watched each and every move, taking pictures with her camera. Pete, however, didn't appear to be digging the country sound.

Speaking of Pete - he and his bandmates just recently offered up their sentiments to Travis Barker and Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein following their life-threatening plane crash.

Fall Out Boy's post reads, "Our band would like to reach out and put those who were a part of this tragedy and their families in our prayers, and as well our continued support for the recovery of those who survived. It's times like these that we are reminded - in the worst possible way - to honor life. Chris (Baker) was a rad (great) guy. He always had a way to get us to smile on tour, he was truly beloved."
